Ecological Impact Assessment

Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA) is a recognised statutory framework for identifying, quantifying and evaluating the potential impacts of development on wildlife. It is used by Government and planning authorities to inform decision making on major development proposals, particularly those which have the potential to cause significant ecological impact. EcIA is an integral part of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).

Reuben has undertaken the preparation of many EcIAs for a diverse set of proposals including housing, wind farms, roads, railways, and a range of commercial developments. He is able to assist with initial consultation with planning authorities and statutory consultees in scoping the extent of an EcIA, through to the production of Ecology and Ornithology Chapters for inclusion in an EIA.
